Don’t Apologize

It’s crazy days we live in. The moment we open our mouths in defense of the Christian faith or say something that has been historic Christian doctrine for two millennia, the culture jumps down on throats. And they demand us to apologize. They call us bigots, transphobic, homophobic, and everything in between. They simply want an apology.

We shouldn’t give it to them.

Christian, I want to encourage you—don’t apologize. Don’t apologize for your faith.

Don’t apologize for God as the Creator and Sustainer of the cosmos. Many will ridicule you for believing in God, and yet, those same people believe in evolution—that we share a common ancestor with monkeys, that the universe came from nothing.

Don’t apologize for the Bible’s sexual ethic. Yes, God created us male and female—and He doesn’t make mistakes. Yes, homosexuality is sinful and Scripture is clear on that. The same is true with transgenderism and the pronoun fiasco. We must not apologize for the clarity and authority of Scripture.

Don’t apologize for the exclusivity of Jesus Christ. Yes, He is the only way to Heaven (John 14:6). The Bible is clear: those who do not know Him will go to Hell. People will claim the exclusivity of Christ is unloving, but it was immensely loving for God to provide a way.

Lastly, don’t apologize for God’s sovereignty. Many, even some professing Christians, refuse to believe in the absolute sovereignty of God. The Bible is clear: God does as He pleases and controls all things.

And that, my friends, is a good thing. Don’t apologize.
