For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Peter 1:21)
The Bible was written by men, yes. And it was written by approximately 40 different men—but that’s not the whole story by a long shot.
These men, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit, wrote down exactly what God wanted them to say. Ultimately, and most importantly, the Bible was written by God Himself.
The Bible is God’s book. It is the inspired, infallible Word of God. In light of this, we must do a few things.
One, read our Bibles. We have the Bible at our fingertips, so we must not take that for granted. Reading and studying Scripture is the way we hear from the Lord, get to know Him more, and grow as believers.
Two, believe the Bible. These are the words of eternal life! We can believe this is God’s book because we believe God. It is authoritative, inerrant, and infallible. There are no errors. Everything it says about any given subject is true. We must be willing to stake our entire lives on Scripture. The Bible was not conjured up by the imaginations of men but of the sovereign will of God. Let us hold firm to the sacredness of Scripture.
Amen!
