You are a sinner, and so am I. Before coming to Christ, we were guilty before a holy God. Our mouths were full of deceit and our hearts packed with pride. We stood condemned. Our sin was before us and we were without hope.

But God. But Jesus. But the cross.

Because of the perfect life and atoning death of Jesus Christ, we can stand before God guiltless. God declares us innocent because of the blood of Jesus. And not just innocent, but righteous, for we have that righteousness of Christ. That is the most amazing news.

Friend, whenever you decide to read this, please remember this vital truth: if you are in Christ, you are guiltless. Your debt is paid, you owe no more. Your sin is long gone—you have no more guilt. You don’t need to keep trying to remove your sin by your own efforts, your own strength, your own power. Jesus did it on your behalf.
