Start your day off believing, cherishing, and meditating on these three breathtaking words: God loves you.
God’s love isn’t like the culture’s love—one of transaction or a if-you-do-this-I’ll-do-that type of love. God’s love isn’t a Hallmark love. It’s a covenantal. It’s a love that compels you not to remain in your sin. It’s a love that was, primarily, shown via the cross of Christ in his Son dying for the world (John 3:16).
Do yourself a favor: think on God’s love today. And not in a general sense of God loving the world. Think on His love for you. As it pains us to admit, we’re not the most lovable creatures. We are selfish, manipulative, and for the most part, think of ourselves before others. We are unlovable. There is nothing God sees in us that makes him love us. His love for us springs from a love of his glory. Nevertheless, his love is true.
God loves you. Live for him. Live “in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ” (Philippians 1:27).
