“For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him.”
(Colossians 1:16)
Jesus is not only our Savior, but our Creator. Contrary to the heresies of different cults and religions, Jesus is eternal—He was not created. There was never a time when Jesus came into being. He has always existed and always will exist.
And as Creator, He, well, created. As Colossians notes, Jesus created all things. Everything that exists, exists because of Jesus.
Jesus created you and me—every one of us. He intricately designed all of us, from head to toe. He knitted us together in our mothers’ wombs (Psalm 139:13). From the color of our hair to the shape of our feet, Jesus designed every aspect of us. He designed the muscle in the arms of the Roman soldiers who pierced him on the cross. He created everything.
It’s a tremendous display of His grace, mercy, and love for him to allow His creation to curse Him with gifts He’s given to us—our whole life.
Friends, our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. He upholds the universe by His voice and holds all things together. Everything falls into place and goes according to nature because Jesus is sustaining it all. If He stopped, the world would collapse.
Let us marvel today at our great Savior and Creator.
