When I Recognized Race

We can agree to disagree on different issues surround the race conversation, but one thing remains very true: we need empathy. Gavin Ortlund does a beautiful job here: “I wonder how our conversations about race would improve if we were better at practicing empathy. I suspect we would be less likely to commit some of the common blunders that many commit: failing to listen, minimizing the problem, or even blaming the victim.”

Let Women Speak…

Alistair Chalmers with a much-needed refresher in the women in ministry discussion: “I’ll lay my cards on the table, I am a complementarian. That doesn’t mean that I think women aren’t gifted. It doesn’t mean that I think women are unimportant. It doesn’t mean that I think men are better than women. It means that I’m convinced, from Scripture, that men and women were created as equals but with different roles. I believe that one of those differences should be seen in the Church.
